Dive Type: Shore
Max Depth: 130
Level: Advanced - Deep Diver
Current: Low-Medium
Details

Three Tree Point North is a saltwater dive site, located in Burien, WA.

The diversity of various man-made structures, small boat wrecks, and urban remains at this site is intriguing, and you never know quite what you’ll find living here. The artificial reefs run parallel to shore at two depths and divers of all experience levels can find something to enjoy there, or in shallow eel grass near the shore. Currents are moderate and tend to run southward, it can be dived at times other than slack and is a good destination when south winds are blowing.

The artificial reef structures teaming with fish are the main attraction to diving Three Tree. There are tire reefs, large piles of corrugated pipe, a junkyard of appliances, a few small boats (one still on its trailer), and even a large satellite dish. Swarms of ratfish are often encountered as you swim from item to item here. The reefs are home to large rockfish, ling cod, painted greenlings, octopus, and more while you are likely to find sculpins and snake pricklebacks along the cobble and sandy bottom. There have been sightings of wolf eels, giant octopus, and six-gill sharks at this location if you are lucky.

More experienced divers can venture to deeper depths to see the I-beams, telephone poles, and other sunken items, such as coal mine carts, and a bottle field where an octopus can be typically found.
